Updates to Service to the State and Beyond
Create a community engagement infrastructure.
Status: Rachael Jones McAfee began her position as the new interim executive director of community engagement for IU Bloomington.

Expand continuing education opportunities to support workforce development.
Status: Work is underway to amplify existing efforts to expand continuing education opportunities offered by IUB to support workforce development.

Expand IUB global expertise and economic development.
Status: IU Global is planning a launch event in fall 2024 for the finalized IUB Global Learning Framework.
IU Global leadership met with the IEDC to discuss IU’s contributions to the state’s priorities around international investment.
The Office of International Development continues to work on programming to implement the external reviewers’ recommendations for improving IU’s ability to secure and implement externally funded large-scale, interdisciplinary international institutional development grants. These include a workshop series for faculty and staff, which will focus on the sharing of capacity development experience, and a university-wide International Development Working Group as a mechanism for engaging with and supporting units interested in collaborating on externally funded projects.
