Create a community engagement infrastructure.
Status: Rachael Jones McAfee began her position as the new interim executive director of community engagement for IU Bloomington.
IU Bloomington is pursuing the Carnegie Classification for Community Engagement. This is an elective classification, and would be a reclassification for our campus for 2026.

Expand continuing education opportunities to support workforce development.
Status: Work is underway to amplify existing efforts to expand continuing education opportunities offered by IUB to support workforce development.

Expand IUB global expertise and economic development.
Status: IU Global is planning a launch event on November 14, 2024, for the finalized IUB Global Learning Framework.
The Office of International Development is planning a new series called "International Development Voices for Change" that will invite IU faculty and staff engaged in institutional development collaborations with universities and organizations in the Global South to share their experiences and IU's positive impact on institutions and communities. Speakers will discuss topics such as:
- strategies for successful grant proposals
- effective ways of managing international projects, including partnerships with institutions in the Global South
- IU's role as a change agent
The first event will be held on Nov. 7, 2024, and will focus on IU's impact in the Middle East and Vietnam, with presenters from the Kelley School of Business and the O'Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs.
