IUB is uniquely positioned to harness our expertise and resources to improve quality of life and place for people in Indiana and beyond. We will utilize our resources to further drive economic prosperity in the state, amplifying regional industry clusters through our existing and emerging research strengths, building deeper partnerships, and increasing opportunities for Indiana businesses. We will also provide opportunities for the IUB community to make a significant impact through research, teaching, and service, strengthening our commitment to addressing local, national, and global challenges. Through building deeper connections throughout the state, we will become Indiana's go-to partner and resource for responding to the most pressing needs in industry and workforce development.
Updates to Service to the State and Beyond
Create a community engagement infrastructure.
Status: A working group is being formed to focus on community engagement, and conversations are underway to determine the most effective structure for our efforts.

Expand continuing education opportunities to support workforce development.
Status: Work is underway to amplify existing efforts to expand continuing education opportunities offered by IUB to support workforce development.

Expand IUB global expertise and economic development.
Status: Plans are underway for a fall meeting on an initiative to improve career opportunities for international students and support state workforce needs. The meeting will primarily be for business leaders. VPUR, IUAA, IU Global, IEDC, and the International Center in Indianapolis will participate.
The IUB Global Learning Committee, which was created to clarify how IUB approaches global learning, proposed a framework for IUB's global learning initiatives which has been finalized and adopted. IU Global will begin disseminating it to the academic units in fall 2024.
IU conducted an external review of IU’s international development operations with the aim of generating recommendations for increasing our capacity to secure and implement large-scale multidisciplinary grants. Implementation of the external reviewers' recommendations will begin in academic year 2024–25.
